Hi there
I am importing some longitude and latitude values from a text file.
I need to store these as numbers.
So my one longitude value is -2.511761
When I try to convert it to a decimal it gives an error saying it can't convert. Any idea why?
Many thanks
Regards
Chris

Hey,
check the "Regional Settings" of the current Power BI file:
It's likely, that your seetings do not match the character that is used in your text file.
Hopefully this provides some additional insights.

Tom

Hi @Anonymous ,
By my tests, I cannot reproduce your issue.
Please check if all of the values for longitude is like -2.511761.
If you still need help, please share a dummy pbix file which can reproduce the issue, so that we can help further investigate on it? You can upload it to OneDrive and post the link here. Do mask sensitive data before uploading.
Best Regards,
Cherry

Got this sorted by changing regional settings in PB for decimals
