Dear Community members,
I'm trying to convert 7 or 8 tooltips in our dashboard to show it as pop-up pane with data instead of tooltip.
Usually pop-up pane will be done via bookmark.
Is there a simple way to convert my tooltips to pop-up pane? Any guidance and support is highly appreciated.
Thanks!

To convert tooltips to pop-up panes in Power BI, you can indeed use bookmarks along with selection panes and buttons to create the effect of a pop-up. Here’s a step-by-step guide to set this up:
1. Create Pop-Up Visuals
- Duplicate the visuals you would use for tooltips onto a separate page or area in your report.
- Format these visuals as a pop-up (e.g., add borders, adjust the size, etc.).
2. Add a Transparent Rectangle for Background
- Add a transparent shape (such as a rectangle with low transparency) to cover the report behind the pop-up. This will help to give the effect of a focused pop-up.
- Ensure this rectangle is layered behind your pop-up visuals in the Selection Pane.
3. Create a Bookmark
- Go to the View menu and open the Selection Pane and Bookmarks Pane.
- With only the pop-up visuals and the transparent background visible, create a new bookmark and name it (e.g., "Pop-Up View").
- Make sure to set the bookmark options to capture Current Page, Display, and Filters as needed.
4. Set Up a Button to Trigger the Pop-Up
- Create a button (or icon) that users can click to open the pop-up.
- In the button’s Action properties, set the Type to Bookmark and link it to the "Pop-Up View" bookmark.
5. Add a Close Button to the Pop-Up
- Inside the pop-up pane, add another button for closing.
- Create another bookmark that hides the pop-up visuals and returns to the default view.
- Link this button to that bookmark to enable users to close the pop-up.
6. Repeat for Additional Pop-Ups
- For multiple pop-ups, repeat these steps for each unique tooltip you want to display as a pop-up.
This setup will allow you to show detailed data in a pop-up format, providing a more interactive and focused user experience compared to traditional tooltips. Let me know if you need any further clarification!
