Convert Employee Name ID from a number to text
Is there a way to change an Employee named from numbers to text so that I can see the employee's name?

i think you need to give more info here
1. what data to you have
2 you would probably need to link the number to another table to get the name
but thats just a huge assumption because what are you asking?
If I took the time to answer your question and I came up with a solution, please mark my post as a solution and /or give kudos freely for the effort 🙂 Thank you!

I am very new to Power BI, so I will give as much information as I can. We have a Sharepoint list capturing ideas as employees submit it. Their names appear in the Sharepoint list, but they convert to Employee ID numbers in the power BI queries. We are assuming that the ID's are being assigned through our Active Directory. The goal is to be able to create a table in Power BI so we can track how many ideas employees are submitting, but would like to see their names. Thank you for any help you can give!

Ok so what you need to do is find the table in sharepoint that stores the users. So you need to bring both those tables into power bi , the user table and the list table and then create a relationship between the tables via the id's and you will then be able to bring back from the user table the employee name.
I have done something similar before but for the life of me can't remember what the name of the sharepoint table is. I think its called userinfo or something. It was in a previous role so i can't access it.

We have testList and there's a field "empName" which is a person type in the list.
And in Power BI desktop, when connecting to the Sharepoint List, I get the empName which has a record type and I can find the name after expanding the record.
Isn't this the same case in your scenario?
