Hi,
Pardon the noob question
In a Pivot Table, I have columns that are collapsed to Years. If I click on a Year, it expands to months, but the other years remain collapsed to the Year summary.
In my Matrix table in Power BI, if I click a Year it expands and the other year values disappear, what I would expect in a drill down. If I right click and choose Expand to Next Level, all the Years expand. Is there a way to do in Power BI what I can do in Excel Pivot Tables?
Any guidance will be appreciated
Ross

Hi @RossChevalier ,
Currently, it is not supported to expand and collapse columns header in Matrix. You could vote the idea up and submit comments to get the feature fixed quickly. And it is voted by about 4000+ users. I think it will be fixed soon.
Add expand/collapse feature to column headers
As a workaround, you could reference the similar thread about changing column dynamically by a slicer.

Hi @RossChevalier ,
I created some sample data, is this what you want?
If yes, you can enable the +/- Icons function in Row headers section, please see the bottom right in the above screenshot.
If no, please show me what you want.
Thanks.

Thank you so much. I can see how to do this with rows, what I wanted to do is something similar in columns.
For example, I would like to be able to have selective expansion, such as keeping the quarters for 2018 and 2019 collapsed but the quarters for 2020 expanded. Because of the number of row items, readability requires me to put the dates in columns. If there is a +/- option for columns, I have plainly missed it so coaching on this will be appreciated.

Hi @RossChevalier ,
Based on your description, I think you are talking about drilltrough. Please reference the document to have a try.
