Control visibility of visual depending on user/group

Hi,

Looking in forum see some old posts suggesting not yet possible to have conditional visibility of a visual.

Any thoughts as to best way to accomplish below in power bi.

I'm looking to do the following.

Have a slicer or filter which is only visible to certain users who belong to a certain functional group.

These partciular users should have ability to select either Y or N

Could have this as data table with 2 rows Y and N and then put slicer on this column.

I can then use if else logic to determine if value selected on this slicer and show the appropriate value depending on the selection.

If they select Y they will see  the same value as all others.  If they select N see will have an additional measure added to a measure they see.

Thanks

@po,

You may try Row-level security with Power BI and Visual level filters.

Thanks for suggestion.

Will row level security just affect the visibility of rows rather than teh actual visual itself.

For instance if we create a two row table with Y and N as the 2 values and wish to make this visible as a slicer.

We would only want the actual slicer visual to be visible to certain users.

@po,

You may hide all the selections in Slicer.

How do you do this - row level security?

In our case this hide of all possibilities in slicer woudl be for all users apart from selected group.
