Continuous Categorical Line Chart

Hi,   I was wondering if it's possible to set a continuous categorical value on a line chart? As you can see in the below screenshot the data points are disjointed.   I'm aware this can be set to...

    Hello aburling1989 ,
    it's very strange, I tested my reports and the continuous axis worked on all types of fields, including texts.

    Try to create a hierarchical X-axis, first, put a year, and then place the quarters underneath it in the required format.

     

    Please provide an example if it doesn't work.

Many thanks for the response. Unfortunately this option doesn't work. If I just add the year, I get the option to set the type as 'Continuous', however as soon as I add quarter into the hierarchy this option is no longer available and it auto sets to categorical.

 

The closest I've been able to get is by using the 'Line Chart by Akvelon 2.0.1' custom visual, which supports a continuous line on categorical information (example below). However, for some strange reason this visual does not update if there is only 1 selection available in the legend (no idea why) so I'm trying to find a way to stick to the standard line chart.
