Hi all,
I have recently been running into an issue where upon refresh or applying query changes all queries get stuck at "Creating connection in model"; I end up having to force quit the program to make it go away. I have tried unchecking all the settings/preview features listed in similar community posts. I have checked for blank columns in all of my queries and source data. I have cleared my cache and increased the cache limit. I have unclicked "enable load" on all but a few queries, but they still show up and get stuck when trying to apply changes. I have reverted back to a previous version of the pbix and was able to get it to apply query changes once but no data loaded from the tables and then it get stuck at creating connection again. I am out of troubleshooting ideas.
Hi @day_j ,
Please check if you have any blank column and uncheck the options in the screenshot below:
Please also refer to the similar post:https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Applying-Queries-stuck-with-Creating-Connection-Model/m-p/5... and try to install the latest version of Power BI Desktop. If the issue is still existing, I also recommend go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".

Best Regards,
Dedmon Dai
