Hi,
I am trying to connect Power BI to QuickBooks Online using Power BI's QuickBooks Online (beta) connector. The QuickBooks account is an admin account. I can connect to it without a problem and can see the tables, but they are all empty.
Has anyone seen this problem before or does anyone know how to resolve it?
Thanks,
Demetrius
Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
I have never tried to use Power BI to connect to QuickBooks before.
I should have admin privileges on that QuickBooks account.
I am not having problems logging in. I am just not seeing records in most of the tables.
If there is a General Ledgers table I can not see it.
This is an example of what I see when I try to get data:
Thank you for any suggestions you may have,
Demetrius
Hi @dsotiriades
Maybe you can try this:
QuickBooks Online has deprecated support for Internet Explorer 11, which Power Query Desktop uses for authentication to online services. To be able to log in to Quickbooks Online from Power BI Desktop, go to Enabling Microsoft Edge (Chromium) for OAuth Authentication in Power BI Desktop.

Hi @dsotiriades
Have you ever connected to QuickBooks Online before? Does it work?
Ensure that your QuickBooks Online account has the necessary permissions for data access. Verify that the admin account you’re using has the appropriate privileges to retrieve data from the General Ledger.
Sometimes, changes in QuickBooks Online settings or updates can impact data retrieval. Double-check if any recent changes might be affecting the connection.
Or you can provide more detailed description of your connection flow, so that we can help you better.

Hi Zhengdong,
Thank you again for taking the time to respond to my questions.
I think the problem might be that even though I was told I was given an admin role on the QuickBooks account, I wasn't.
Currently, I am waiting for a response from the person that issued that account about its permissions level is actually set. Hopefully that will resolve this issue.
But again, thank you,
Demetrius
