Connection to Google Sheets from Powerbi - anyone else experiencing an error message?

Hi all.

Is anyone else experiencing issues with connecting to Google Sheets via the 'web' connector?

I've noticed in the last few months that, when refreshed, the query stays on the 'connecting to Google' pane for a while then returns an error message but then loads ok, after the error message has been clicked away.

Anyone got any ideas of why this may be occuring?

Thanks

HI @JonSwed,

If you mean web connector, it will get data based on the API that you used. They may show some issues if these requests failed on the processing or verified. (e.g. authorization or tokens changes, compatibility between data provider/driver and API, response data structure not match..)

Hi Xiaoxin, Thanks for that.

However, my question is more about if anyone who has been using Google Sheets as a data source (using the web connector) is experiencing issues with this connection. My experience is that this was previously entirely stable but now returns an error message  - despite no changes in permissions. Curiously the data loads correctly after this and also loads on automatic refreshes. Whilst I'm glad that it's loading I am concerned that this may cause errors in the future.

HI @JonSwed,

The data structure break issue I mentioned above can be caused by network status.

Normally, they will work well. (if google API or power bi service releases new features or changes in data structure/authorizations, you need to check your reports and correspond datasets)

In addition, you can also enable the notice of refresh failed to help you trace the dataset status.

Hi! Thanks for that. That's the method I've been using for months - my point was in the last few months it seems to have become more unstable i.e the presence of an error message even when the data loads successfully.
Have you experienced this recently?
