Connection issue: We couldn't authenticate with the credentials provided. Please try again

I have used Power Bi for a while now, and yesterday my Power BI desktop connected successfully to the Azure postgresql database, that I am using. But now it is full stop with the message: "We couldn't authenticate with the credentials provided. Please try again."

I'm able to connect using Azure Data Studio, and are sure the cridentials are correct (nothing has changed since yesterday).
What am I doing wrong, or more likely, what could have changed on the server since yesterday?

I can see there are some changes regarding TLS. Can it be relevant?

Please help. Kind of desperate.

Spoke with support, I rolled back to the July version before updates to connectors and it's working in the interim (not a perfect solution I know). But it's allowing me to update and publish changes as expected.

Downloaded an earlier version of Power BI from here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/fundamentals/desktop-latest-update-archive?tabs=powerbi-d...

I went for the version from June, but July have also been reported as an working option.

same issue with me. downgrading PBI desktop to July 2024 has solved my problem with refreshing locally.

Interesting! For me rolling back to the september version worked too.

kind of strange, I setup version from May 2024(don't have July) but the same problem there.

moreover, i found version from middle 2023 and there is the same issue too.

Nop, no solution yet. Hoping that someone can help me. Running out of options to try. 😓

Also have the same issue currently, this was a known issue last month with the release and was fixed. However, I'm now having the same issues as previously: Encrypted Support Message - Microsoft Fabric Community
