Hi all,
I have downloaded Power BI Desktop (July version) on my laptop and trying to connect to SSAS tabular Server(on-premise ). But I am getting following error. However, I am able to access SQl server database(on- premise) using my credentials
DataSource.Error: AnalysisServices: A connection cannot be made. Ensure that the server is running.
Can anyone please advice about this, as it is urgent.
Thanks
Mazhar.

As the error mentioned, your SSAS server is not started. It's not related to SQL Server Datebase Engine. You may try to connect your tabular in SSMS. It supposes to throw same error message. Please verify if the SSAS service is started.
