I have a database which is in my local system. Trying to connect the same with Power BI desktop using SQL Server Databse and for connection given the server name as my system's name. When trying to get connected it is showing an error.
Can anyone let me know the steps to connect to the databse??
I used:
(localdb)\MSSQLLocalDB
as the servername and that worked for me.
Hi @sujaysbhat,
Could you please mark the proper answer as solution or share the solution if it's convenient for you? That will be a big help to the others.
Best Regards!
Dale
Hi @sujaysbhat,
Is your database SQL Server 2000? If so, I'm afraid it isn't supported by Power BI Desktop. The minimum supported version of SQL Server is SQL Server 2005. Please refer to: powerbi-desktop-data-source-prerequisites.
Best Regards!
