Connecting to datasource via VPN

Hi everyone!

I have an active VPN connection to my customer network. If I try to connect to Analysis Services (Tabular model) through Excel no problem is found and the connection is established properly. Instead, if I try to connect to Analysis Services through Power BI the server is not found.

 

Why can I connect from Excel but from Power BI? Are there some configuration to be applied on SSAS service?

    First, you need to stop your VPN in order to connect with Analysis Services through Power BI, it will work properly as it is working with excel. Data recovery Dubai help you to connect if you are unable to connect and still found server error. This is the common solution for everyone.

      Hi nathannile and thank you for your reply.

      I cannot disconnet the VPN because I'm outside of the organization.

      I need VPN in order to contact the AS server.
