Connecting to Salseforce MARKETING CLOUD

Hi,

I am looking for a way to connect from Power BI to SALESFORCE MARKETING CLOUD. The current Salesforce connector is designed to connect to Salesforce CRM, which is a different system.

I looked online and didn't find any solutions.

Thanks,

Erez

  • Hi erezbenmoshe ,

There are only two offical connnectors for Salesforce In power BI desktop. There is an idea about that, you can vote it up and add your comments there to improve Power BI and make this feature coming sooner.

Or you can try the Salesforce Marketing Power BI Connector from third party.

    Regards,

    Frank

I can recommend a third-party tool that allows you to connect Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Power BI — Skyvia. This no-coding solution provides integration through a database or cloud data warehouse with automatic schema creation. Then you can connect Power BI to this database or data warehouse easily.

  • Hi, erezbenmoshe were you able to find a solution? As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I currently use windsor.ai's SF connector and I think it's compatible with SF mkt cloud, so maybe you can see how it works out for you. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:

After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:

There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor.  Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.

  • Hi erezbenmoshe,

The standard Power BI Salesforce Objects and Reports connectors do not provide direct access to Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement data.

For Marketing Cloud, the usual approach is to use its REST or SOAP APIs Salesforce Objects and Reports connectors do not provide direct access to Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement data.

Another option is a third-party Marketing Cloud connector or an ODBC-based extraction pipeline.

Power BI Connector for Salesforce by Metrica Software is not a direct Marketing Cloud connector: https://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=31526f0e-abd8-4cb5-bd1a-3bd56b5c0577

However, if the required Marketing Cloud data is synchronized nto standard or custom objects in your Salesforce CRM org, Metrica can export those accessible objects to Power BI.

    Cheers,
    Metrica Team
