Is it possible to jointly work on a desktop report that is connected to SAP HANA? For example:
Developer A builds the SAP HANA connection on their machine and builds a PBI report. Developer B wants to edit the report but does not have the SAP connector on their machine or SAP access permissions. Can Developer B still edit visualizations of the report, create DAX expressions and publish to Power BI service?
If Developer A leaves the company, can Developer B still update the report and dashboards on PBI service? Is the connector always needed, or just for the initial data connection?
Hi @doddv ,
Has the problem be solved?
Best Regards,
Jay
@doddv , Ask developer A to create a dataset and publish it on power bi service.
Developer B should use this power bi dataset and develop the reports. If need he can add new measures
Developer A should ensure this report keeps on working on power bi service. In case on premise gateway is needed
to add new data columns or refresh it, on desktop, you need to have a connection with SAP HANA. So you need make sure there is some with that access manage dataset
refer if needed
