Connecting to Power BI Dataset and Local Excel

Hi everyone! I am trying to connect to Power BI Datasets using direct query and also connect to an excel stored on my desktop. Previously this was working with no issues. However, today when I tried to do the same again, I faced with this error. Can anyone help me with this? I already have contributor rights to the dataset and it was working a few days back, wonder if this is an issue with my setup or with the new Power BI updates...

Hi, @kellyylt

Based on the error message above, it is likely that there is a problem connecting the credentials.

Try to go Transform data, Edit connection -> clean permission>edit permission

If that will not cover your case, you could check the Issues forum here:

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues

And if it is not there, then you could post it.

  • If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket.
  • i would receommend to open a support ticket.

If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com

Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".

Hello! When I click on Transform data, this screen pops up and I clicked on 'Add a local model'. That's when I get the error again.
