Connecting to MongoDB to PBI desktop

Hi all,

I am trying to connect to MongoDB via ODBC driver, but loading the data takes more than hours. The size of the collection is lesser than 3 MB. So, what is the maximum data size that can be uploaded to Power BI from MongoDB?
However, I have successfully imported data to the desktop but when I apply the steps, it takes a lot of time. Can anyone please let me know what could be the limitations etc or any article which gives all details about it?

1. The issue I am facing now is it took 3 hours to load the data. So if I refresh it, how long it will take?

2. After creating a report I will need to publish the report to the service and embed it to a User Owns data application. (for point 2, what could be the most important key points that will help me )

Regards,
Ashfiya

Hi @Anonymous,

#1, In my opinion, it should not be limited to less than 3MB records even if the limitations to using the odbc driver to get data from MongoDB.
What version of odbc driver are you worked? Did this driver compatible with the system version and bit? How did you configure it on the MongoDB side? Please share some more detail to help us clarify your scenario.

Hi @v-shex-msft ,

I am using 1.4.3 version (64-bit) ODBC driver. Yes it is compatible with the system version and bit. I am able to pull data from MongoDB successfully to Desktop(takes around 3 hours) , when applying the changes, takes a lot of time
