Hi All,
I am trying to connect Powerbi to an Excel document that is hosted on a sharepoint site. When I try to connect and enter my credentials through the web connector, I get the "We couldnt authenticate with the credentials provided" error. I have access to this document through a Microsoft Teams "Team" that I am a member of. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need the owner of the document to give my specific microsoft account direct access through sharepoint, not just access through a shared Team on Teams? Thanks!

Make sure during authentication you select the "organizational" account type (you can get back to this screen in datasource settings). If you have access to the team site, and the document is in a library that the team has access to, you should have sufficient access.
This is my preferred method for connecting to single Excel files in SharePoint, in case you have better luck with this: https://youtu.be/2HZ8l23RXnc?si=EnwMmrMDN6GGN6aY
