Connecting to 2008R2 Analysis Server Cube from PowerBI Desktop

Can we connect to 2008R2 Multi Dimensional Cube using PowerBI Desktop.

Also can we connect analysis services live if we have 2014 Developer Edition?

Currently, one of the limitations to connect to SSAS cube is

  • SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services SP1 CU4 or later (Enterprise or Business Intelligence editions only)
