Connecting SAP to PowerBI
Hi everyone,
Everyday, I have a dashboard that uses an excel file extracted from SAP. Everyday, I go to SAP and extract a variant report to excel. I then replace the yesterdays excel file with the new excel extraction and refresh&publish my PowerBI.
I am hoping to connect the SAP variant extraction to PowerBI (either directly from SAP to PowerBI or via Microsoft SQL) so I don't have to manually extract the SAP pull and replace the old file everyday. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi emrei -I think , similar issue raised from your end, adding few points as below:
By connecting SAP directly to Power BI or using SQL Server as an intermediary, you can eliminate the manual extraction and replacement process
Power BI has native connectors for some SAP systems. Here are the two most common ones:
SAP BW Connector: If you are using SAP BW (Business Warehouse), Power BI has a built-in connector for this. It allows you to connect directly to SAP BW and pull data into Power BI.SAP HANA Connector: If your SAP data is stored in SAP HANA, Power BI also offers a direct connector to SAP HANA.
Power Query SAP HANA database connector - Power Query | Microsoft Learn
These connectors allow you to set up scheduled refreshes in Power BI, automating the process of data extraction and visualization
Hope the above information helps.
