Connecting Data Source via Gateway
Is it possible to connect a remote data source via Power BI gateway from Power BI desktop?

samsongejibo You don't need gateway to connect to data source from power bi desktop. If from the computer you're using power bi desktop you can talk to data source then you can connect to that data source from power bi desktop.

Yes, it is possible to connect to my database through server URL. However, I don't want to expose my database to web. I can use SSH tunnel and connect the database as localhost from my Power BI desktop. It would be great if I use the gateway instead. Seems not possible now.

Currently, gateway is only used for the Power BI Service. Regarding to the issue that connect to gateway data sources in Power BI Desktop, you can vote it in the following idea.
