Connect to om premise Oracle database

Hello,

 

I have connected by Oracle database with Power BI Designer, however when i create a view with drag and drop,it gives me the following error.

 

Could't load the data for this visual.

The managed provider 'Oracle.DataAccess.Client' could not be instantiated.Unable to find the requested .Net Framework Data Provider. It may not be installed.

 

Kindly help.

Hi @Amit,

What version of Power BI Desktop do you install? 32-bit or 64-bit? Please firstly make sure that you install the correct Oracle client software on the machine that runs Power BI Desktop, for more details, please check this article.

However, if the issue still persists, please check the reference of machine.config files in the following folders. There is a similar thread for your reference.

C:\windows\microsoft.net\framework64\v4.0.30319\Config
C:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v4.0.30319\Config
