Connect to hostinger database

Hello,

I'm new to Power Bi. I have a problem connecting to mysql database on hostinger.

It fails with error : Details: "MySQL: Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts."

host : mysql.hostinger.nl

I hope someone can help me.

Hi @Blackliq,

Firstly, are you able to connect to the database through MySQL workbench? Make sure that MySQL workbench is installed  on the same machine with Power BI Desktop. If the connection fails, please follow the instructions in this blog to troubleshoot this issue.

Secondly, if you are able to connect to database using MySQL workbench, please use same connection parameters in Power BI Desktop, and also add port number with server name to connect to MySQL.

Thirdly, ensure that you install MySQL Connector/Net 6.6.5 for Microsoft Windows on your computer. Select the driver that matches your Power BI Desktop installation (32-bit or 64-bit).

Thank you for your reply and sorry for my late reaction.

I tried it through MySql Workbench, but I couldn't connect to the database. I'm trying to solve this.

Hi @Blackliq,

Have you added port number in the connection string and installed the connector? 

In addition, please create a dsn for your hostinger database, then connect to it via Get Data>ODBC entry in Power BI Desktop and check if it is successful.
