Connect to MS SQL 2000

Can I connect to MS SQL2000 using a native client? There seems to be a problem in the latest version of Power BI Desktop in April.

    Hi zoltym ,

You may refer to following offical blog about Power BI data source prerequisites.

Power BI currently support the Minimum data source version of SQL Server is SQL Server 2005+. So Power BI Desktop doesn't support SQL 2000.

If you want to use SQL Server connecter in Power BI, please upgrade your SQL Server version to the latest version and try again.

For reference: Refresh data from an on-premises SQL Server database

Or you can try ODBC connecter.

Here is a post  with a similar problem like yours, I hope it could help you.

    Best Regards,

The error with connecting to MS SQL2000 does not appear until the April 2022 version. I know I can replace it with ODBC.
