Connect to GitHub from Power BI Desktop

Hello,

Does anyone know how to connect to GitHub using Microsogy Power BI desktop? My organization has a reporsitory and I would like to access the sql queries in the repository.

If you could please let me know, that would be much appreciated.

thank you

@OPS-MLTSD did you solve the issue? I have the same error like you...

Anybody?

I know that this is an old post, but I just came across Tugger (https://tuggerapp.com/) for connecting to GitHub. They have a few connectors, but the GitHub might be their most recent.

It gives an OData link and password credentials, a 30 day free trial, and perhpas the best of all, a report template to get started.

Hopefully this might help out someone doing what I've been doing, namely trying to find a solution and not have to code it myself!

Hi, @OPS-MLTSD

I doubt if you can access the sql queries in the repository. As far as I know, connecting to github is still a test feature on the desktop, and few people use it. But connecting in the service seems to be the specified content.

Did you try the Github connector from Get Data?

Otherwise, do you mean your organization has a database in git? If so, you just need to set up the git in some folder, then read the data to power bi.

I presume you've asked about this from your organization. What did they say for you to end up asking here?

I did, but it did not allow me to connect to the reporsitory, screenshot below:

My organization does not have a database on github, just a bunch of sql queries on github that I am trying to access, but for some reason, I cannot seem to connect
