Hi @rahul801 ,

I'm sorry, I misunderstood, sorry, at the moment, if you want to connect directly to project online's data source on top of desktop, you need to use PWA.

Hi

Thank you for reply.

Can I connect my projects in MS project online desktop client to Power BI desktop version ? since Project Web App have some limitation regarding task dependencies , total task for a project. I mean can I connect my project to Power BI without uploading it to the PWA site?

Best regards,

Rahul

Hi @Anonymous ,

What shall I enter in the OData source link when using the data from MS project online ? The official page only mentions about PWA (that confused me ) Capture.PNG

Hi @rahul801 ,

To admin access to the PWA site :

Yes, you’ll need admin access to the Project Web App (PWA) site. Ensure that your credentials have the necessary permissions to access the data.

To power bi pro license:

To connect to Project Online data using Power BI, you do not necessarily need a Power BI Pro license. You can achieve this with the free version of Power BI Desktop. However, if you plan to share reports or dashboards with others, you’ll need aPower BI Pro license for publishing and collaboration.
