Configuring a new shared server for Power BI Desktop

Because of various policies at the company I work for, I need to order a server dedicated to Power BI and Excel Power Pivot.

The server will be shared amongst 10 users. We will not be alloed to connect to PowerBI.com.

Is there anything else I should add to the following list:

  • 64 bit Windows Server 2012 or higher
  • 64 bit Power BI Desktop (latest version)
  • 64 bit Office Pro Plus 2016 (preferred) or Pro Plus 2013
  • 32 GB RAM
  • 1 TB disk partition for data

Thanks in advance.

    Hi amir_tohidi,

Adding to the above list, I would like to provide some requirements of using Power BI Desktop for you.

    • .NET 4.5
    • Internet Explorer 9 or later
Display: At least 1440x900 or 1600x900 (16:9) recommended. Lower resolutions such as 1024x768 or 1280x800 are not recommended, as certain controls (such as closing the startup screen) display beyond those resolutions.
CPU: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster x86- or x64-bit processor recommended.

    Thanks,
