Compare Performance Power Pivot in Excel vs BI
I have one question about power pivot performance. At work we have one big folder with 1500 ish and counting csv files, equivalent of 4 million lines and and we want to use the combine folder connector. The options are either use Power Pivot in Excel or use Power Pivot in Power BI.
Excel option come with the flexibity to update file path which hosted on network drive. It is already implemented but refreshing is not fast.
BI option will probably have to be on sharepoint due to network drive mapping is different for each user (minus point) but given the interface is identical between the two, will the performance improve, if so by what magnititute? Is there a tool to measure?

you could use Dax Studio to see the performance in Power BI.

Thank you, but I wonder if DAX studio applies to Power Pivot in Excel.. The comparison is something I am really after.
