Alternatively, you can use the following M code without converting the Date column into datetime format:
= Table.AddColumn(#"Changed Type", "Custom", each if [Date] > DateTime.Date(Date.EndOfMonth(DateTime.LocalNow())) then 0 else [Amount])Hope this helps!
