Combine tablets

Hi all,

 

I hope you are able to help me.

 

I have got one big folder and in this folder I get two different data types - CSV and JSON.

I build up my data tables for CSV and JSON.

 

 CSV table format

a_serialnumber | a_value_1 | a_value_2 | ... | a_value_n

 

 JSON table format

b_serialnumber | b_value_1 | b_value_2 | ... | b_value_n

 

For the Line chart I need one table. What I like to do now, is to add the JSON table under the CSV table to get one big table and data source like

 

serialnumber | value_1 | value_2 | ... | value_n

 

Does anybody have an idea how to do that?

    Hi Anonymous,

     

    For your case, you should keep the name of the column headers to be the same for the two tables, then you could use Append queries.

     

     

    If you still need help, please share a dummy pbix file which can reproduce the scenario and your desired output, so that we can help further investigate on it? You can upload it to OneDrive or Dropbox and post the link here. Do mask sensitive data before uploading.)

    You can use the Append Queries feature, or Table.Combine function if you know M

      Anonymous Please try below steps:

       

      Step1 : Convert your JSON format file into Table structure in "Power Query" after importing your JSON file.

       

       

      Step2: Then expand the table with all the fields as required. 

       

       

      Now you have JSON file in table structure as below

       

       

      Then you can use "Append Queries" to append both JSON file and Table into single final result which can be used further.

        If I use "Append Queries" I got this (arrows show my prefer solution).
