Combine 2 Datasets in 1 Chart

Hi experts!

I have 1 semantic model that shows the actual sales for each product for each data. The model is based on 3 tables:

  • Fiscal Calendar
  • Master Data
  • Sales

Then I have a second semantic model that is showing the budget for each product and is based on these 3 tables:

  • Fiscal Calendar
  • Master Data
  • Budget

Now, I would like to show on a bar chart the actual sales vs the budget.

It is not possible to rebiuld the first semantic model and to add the budget information.

Is this possible? If so, how?

Hey @joshua1990 ,

you  have to create a composite model from both semantic models, read this article: Use composite models in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Next I also recommend reading these articles:

and this whitepaper:

Composite Models - SQLBI

Hopefully, this helps to tackle your challenge.

Regards,

Tom
