Am I missing something here? I set the data type on a bunch of columns in a dataflow (in Premium Per User). When I import into Power BI desktop in order to create the reports the data types are wrong and have to be set again. See the two screenshots with examples:
Dataflow (set to fixed point / currency):
Power BI Desktop (reverts to floating point decimal):
Hi @vgeldbr ,
In my opinion, this is by design.
You can refer to the official article that data type for Currency is Decimal,When Power BI Desktop connect to datafow ,Data type is according toDataflow data type. So it show you the different result from Dataflow.
The following is my test:
And if you want to show Currency value ,you could click here. But it only show the "$" in the value, not show in the column name.
And in Power Query by user Power BI desktop,it also different from edit the dataflow.(not have Currency in data type)

Isn't this the same as the data type in desktop Query Editor vs. Desktop data model? The point is that the data type is fixed decimal not floating point decimal and the query in the desktop should surely take the data type (fixed point) from the dataflow where it is explicitly set and not require it to be set again explicitly in the desktop query?
