I'm trying to show a matrix of paid date (rows), and service date (columns). I can collapse and expand on the rows like usual, but I'm trying to have the columns collapse when it's a previous year and expand when it's the current year.
The columns would be year > month to expand to. Looking to do the below visual (pivot in Excel) in PowerBI

Based on the image you sent, it looks like you want to create a matrix with collapsible columns based on the year and month of the service date. However, this functionality is not available in the native PowerBI Matrix visual as you can only freely expand or collapse rows, not columns.
