Clone a column with DAX?

Question

I have a column that I want to rename in power bi.

Rather I'd like to even leave it alone just incase...and make clone of that column and rename the clone to a better name.

I tried to simple "new column", new column name = oldtable[columnname] but it does not work.

Idea's?

Based on my test, it could work on my side, could you copy the column in the same table? You could refer to below gif picture:

unclejemima are you getting any error? What is not working explain? Make sure you are adding it as a "column" not "measure"
