Clicking one date and getting future data on another visual.

I have one matrix that lists the dates that appointments were generated.

What I want is when I click a date on this matrix a different visual will show a list of dates of the upcoming appointments.

For example, if I click August 31st, I want the other visual to show a list of appointments that were generated from this call date. I have it done in my Google sheet, but I can't seem to figure out a way to do a COUNTIFS in Power BI very well.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

@Imthedan Sample data could really help to be specific. Sounds like you need a Complex Selector - https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Quick-Measures-Gallery/The-Complex-Selector/m-p/1116633#M534

Hi @Imthedan

You need to properly create a relationship between the date slicer and other visualizations and tables.

When you upload a sample file or screenshots, it will be easier to understand and help you.

If I helped, please accept the solution and give kudos! 😀

I haven't added a slicer yet, but basically this is what I have:

I want when I click a date on the left to show the list of dates/appointments on the right.

The table on the left is showing the call date in which an appointment was set. The current right table is just showing future appointments (with no tie to call date). What I want to show on the right is future appointments by call date. If I click the date on the left for 8/31/2020, on the right, I want to see the 10 appointments and what the date for those appointments are.

I have the call date and appointment dates separated in my data. This is relatively easy to do with Google Sheets, but I can't find the similar way/function to do it in power BI.

Thank you for the help!

Hi @Imthedan
Can you share the relationship between these two tables?
On the left side you click on 31/08 which has the value 10 in the g_app column. Then you want to see 10 appointments on the right side - what is your attitude? Do you have any additional column in the table on the right that will be 08/31 for these 10 appointments, or some another logic?

I can provide sample data if needed, but this is the general relationship of the data. The relationships above are from the calendar lookup to the call date (primary relationshiop) and appt_date (secondary relationship). The ID lookup table is from ID to ID.

Within the LPL_Export table, there are call dates, appointment dates, ect... basically, I am looking for the table on the left to display call dates (the date in which the appointment was set.) Then there are the appointment dates. This is the actual date of the appointment. What I want is for the table on right to populate with the dates of these appointments.

For example,

if I click the 8/31/20 date on the left table/matrix, then on the right visual (matrix most likely), I just want it to show the dates of the appointments based off of the appt_date column as a count.
