Click table field to filter to new page

Hi all -

I'm new to Power BI and am looking for some assistance.

I have created a table that lists top-level data for our sales representatives. The first column of the table lists their names and adjacent to this is stuff like number of sales leads, conversion rates etc...

However, I would like the user to be able to click on their name within the table and for the report to take the user to another tab filtered to more granular data in their name, e.g. charts showing business sectors of the leads, lead statusc, etc...

We currently have this report in Tableau but I have been asked to migrate these to Power BI.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @RDF25087

You can create a drillthrough button to perform the drillthrough action. When users select a row in the table visual, the drillthrough button will be clickable to drillthrough to the target page.

Another workaround is to use a combination of Report URL Filter and Hyperlinks in a Table/Matrix features. You need to publish the report to Power BI service to get the report URL first (the URL of the details page). Then go back to Power BI Desktop, create a column to combine the page URL and representative name to make a report page URL with the name filter. Add this column to the table visual in the report and change its column data category to Web URL. Then users can click the hyperlink to go to the corresponding details page.

Thanks for the reply.

My users are salesmen who barely know how to open an Excel spreadsheet. They are used to a one-click option (which they have in our Tableau reports) to take them to another, filtered page. They are going to be sat using this report with customers, on their tablets - drilldown just won't cut it.

Is there a workaround, such as filtered hyperlinks?

Thanks
