Click and filter todays date

I noticed that your year, month, and day slicers are all single selected, and there is no good alternative in this case. In the current design, selecting the non-Today date slicer first and then selecting Today will apply these filters together.

For multi-select slicers, there is a workaround: save a bookmark in the select-all state, when need select TODAY, click the bookmark button and then select TODAY.
