Class not registered error

Hello,

I've just installed PowerBI desktop but I am unable to load any files. It doesn't accept any format I've tried: XLSX, CSV, JSON, all files from folder. Keeps giving me error message even if I just load the file without doing any adjustments.

Error message:

"Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'The following system error occurred: Class not registered '."

Have searched the forum, googled the answer but none of the answers helped so far. Tried to uninstall, install the application again, restart the PC, disabling "Autodetect new relationships after data is loaded", still receive the error message.

Resolved the issue by installing PowerBI with installer instead of Microsoft Store version. Hopes this helps someone having the same issue.

@Anonymous , Install the latest version of Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB and then try.

I did have to uninstall it.

I could not use the one that you install from the Microsoft store.

The reason behind this is I have the same error "Class not registered " & "ExecuteXmla failed with result".

I had to download it from the official website "https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=58494".

Now it's working properly.

NOTE: Download power bi from the given link through the "Microsoft Edge" browser for better results.
