Chart with icons for each data row?

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a chart that looks something like this, where each icon represents a different row in the data and they can be coloured by category and the user can hover over to find info about each individual item. I'm not sure what this kind of chart would even be called, so it's tricky to look it up. It's not a waffle chart because I need the icons to represent individual data rows, rather than percentages.

Is this something possible in Power BI? Thank you!

    Hi juliannek ,

Are you wondering if it is possible to create a visual in power bi that is similar to the image you have provided?

There are many custom visuals in power bi, so perhaps you can find a visual that matches the effect you want.

You can try use this custom visual “HTML Content”:

  • Visuals don't work based on data rows.  They work based on filter context.

Please provide sanitized sample data that fully covers your issue. I cannot help you without usable sample data.
Please paste the data into a table in your post or use one of the file services like OneDrive or Google Drive. I cannot use screenshots of your source data.
Please show the expected outcome based on the sample data you provided. Screenshots of the expected outcome are ok.
