Chart values not displaying as expected

Hi

I am new to BI and after much messing around I have managed to connect my sharepoint lists to PowerBI and call pull through the lists.

I want to create dashboards that will be live and when a new response is submitted and the list updates so too does the report/dashboard.

But when I select the field I want to display ie Date on y axis and Number of open non conformance on the x axis, it insists on displaying the count of responses not the value in the field. But if I turn it into a table it knows perfectly well the values.

I have tried changing count/summarize/dont summarize etc etc and nothing seems to change it.

thanks

Sharepoint lists as data sources have no guaranteed refresh cycle. Microsoft says the changes will be reflected in the dataset "within the hour".  Real time is not possible. You can slightly work around that by declaring the Sharepoint source in your gateway (which in itself is not a good idea for a variety of reasons) and then firing off API refresh requests from Power Automate ("when a sharepoint list item is modified")

Reports never update live. Only dashboards do that.
