Changing excel data source but leaving new columns already made

Hello everyone,

I am new to the PowerBi.
Currently i am working with one data source, excel file. I have created around 10 new columns that are calculations using data from other columns in original excel. How can i import other excel file, with the same structure as the current one, so that the columns i made stay with calculations, to create a template basically?

Thanks to all the answers!

BR!

Hi @VeljkoP98 ,

If the base datasource is in the same format, meaning that the column are the same and with the same name you just need to update the datasource directly this can be done on the data source settings directly, doing this it will keep all your transformations but just change the file to be used.

Be aware that the transformations depend on the name of the columns within each step so if you files have different names you will have to update those names.
