Changing date/time format to date only on PowerBI

Hello 🙂

I am trying to Display only the date (dd/mm/yyyy) in one of my column in a table I uploaded to PowerBI , and not the date/time as it is currently showing.

The 2 ways I found on the internet to do so, which both don't work, are:

1. Going to 'edit query', editing the query, selecting the column, going to the Transform tab and changing the "Data Type" to Date instead of Date/Time.

At first, it seems like it works and the change is displayed on the table, but when clicking "close and apply", it fails to change and I get the error "Loading blocked by failures with other queries".

2.  Changing the Data format to be M/d/yyyy under Modeling.

There is suppose to be a formatting option under Modeling in menu, according to the screenshot displaying the problem but it does not appear in my PowerBI!

Thanks for reading and hope someone knows how to solve this problem 🙂

Hi @Ethan101 ,

Just type your data format into the "Format" field.

This solution doesn't work for me!

Time data remains in the field and when I create relationships or try to lookup that value I get an error as the date is not midnight...

Any other easy way?
