Changing Data Sources of a Report on the Cloud

Hello,

I have created a report based on data from a CSV file. This file was created by using another application (Alteryx). I am able to change how that data pushes from Alteryx and it goes straight to my personal PowerBi library, which I have done and created a whole new data set.

Is there any way to change the source of the data on a published report? I want to change it from this CSV file, to my new data set with the exact same fields, but the data refreshes through Alteryx.

Hi @Treyson

In this scenario, if you have reports published, and the source CSV is updated. You can directly refresh dataset on Power BI Services.

Make sure you have Gateway installed and edit the Data Source Credential.

For more details, please see: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-refresh-data/

@Treyson You may able to do this.

On the Home Tab => click Edit Queries

In the Query Editor => select the Query => on the right side of the screen in Query Setting under Applied Steps

top step is Source => double-click it

Let me know it works.
