Change the data source in a PBI from Analysis Services to a Semantic Model

Hi All,

I have inherited a PBI dashboard trhat currently links as a direct query to an Analysis services database. This is causing me issues as the permissions to view the data are set differently - so I need to change the data sources to a published semantic model - ideally without having to recreate my visuals for all 14 pages....

At present I can't see anyway of even removing the data source - not sure how it was built as that person has left our team.

Is there a way of copying or importing visuals to a new PBI maybe? Any thoughts / advice I'd be really grateful.

Hi @Welshbird

If you have two copies of Power BI open in the Desktop version you can use Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to paste visuals between them.

Brill - I've just tried that and that's going to save me hours. Thank you.
