Change page/tab color

Hi

Can I change the page tab color like in excel? Right now when I right click the page name, I see 4 option but none of them to change color. Thank you very much.

Hi, @lastnn30

It couldn't be achieved in Power BI for now.

For your requirement , you can submit it as an idea on Power BI Ideas forum and add your comments there to make this feature coming sooner.

Possible Solution:  In the PowerBI report tab, rename the text and then press the Windows key and ; key, then type the word circle, you can then choose from 9 circle colours (like this 🟢🔴).  Choose the required circle, then delete the word circle if required from the tab.

Hope this helps and enjoy the workaround 😀.

This is obviously not the same thing but this is an amazing thing to know and serves the same functionality of visually identifying the tabs.

You probably already know this but I will post it so other people know as well - this works because you can actually put any emoji into the report tab name (I had no idea prior to your post). This is extremely useful. A couple good examples I can think of right off the bat would be like:

🛒 Sales 💲

💊 Financial Health 💉

🔒 Crime Rates 🔫

Honestly it is kinda better than simple tab colouring but I would still love to have that option added too.

So..... not solved?

@Anonymous I see you're a new member. Just a warning that most google searches for PowerBI that link to this Microsoft User Community and say "SOLVED" are not actually solved. It's a weird culture here in which a bunch of admins will tell you to submit a request for the feature to get added and then it gets marked as solved.

Welcome to PowerBI! 🙂 It's a decent tool, and it will definitely increase your google skills to try to get to the real answer somewhere.

Yep such a waste of time. Reporting from December 2024, this extremely basic functionality that already exists in other Microsoft products and would be extremely easy to implement is still not possible. UNSOLVED.

THIS IS NOT SOLVED THEN IS IT ?

This is the biggest issue I have with this community. You google how to do something and then click on the one that says "SOLVED" only to discover it's nowhere near solved, then you go and find an actual solution elsewhere and wish you had started there...

Hi @lastnn30 ,

PBI doesn't provide such option to change tab color but you can use navigator where you can get options to design.
