Change Y Axis depending on what month is clicked in Chart Visual

I have a chart I need to go back 13 months. Is it possible to change the 13 month axis to be 13 months backward from column month on visual clicked? If the month picked was 9 it would show backward from 9th month this year to 9th month last year. 7th month if 7 is selected. Right now, I can make the points on the chart change down to whatever period is chosen from a slicer but the y axis still shows all months possible not just the 13 at a time I'm looking for.

Thank you @danextian for your help.  I made a copy of the matrix and turned it into a chart.  The Disconnected dates landed in the y-axis - Perfect.

I thought I sent him a response last Thursday after trying to get my chart to do the same thing the matrix does.  Great example for the matrix but the chart doesn't seem to have a value I can attach the disconnected measure to.

If you're trying to do that within the same visual, it is not possible. You will need to use at least two, a disconnected table and a measure referencing this disconnected table.

@Kym01 You will need to add a check to your measure that determines if the year/month is in the appropriate time range and return BLANK if it is not.
