Hello,
I'm setting up a drilldown scatter chart. The drill down works fine, but I can't get the legend to change depending on the level I drill down to. Is that possible to do?
Thank you for your help. It seems a bit unweidly for users to have to use a slicer to select the correct legend. I was hoping there would be a method of getting the legend to change automatically as you drilled down or up. Maybe it's just not possible.
the slicer will change the x-axis, and base on this change, the legend will automatically change .
so instead of clicking on the drilling down button, they click on the slicer button . ( which can be designed nicely with the new slicer introduced by power bi ) .
output :
on country level : --> legend is color
on branch level --> legend is product group .
overall :
steps 1 :
create 2 field paramters. each field paramter with the columns you want to show. ( one for the x axis and one for the legend )
param1
param2
step 2
add a new column to the field paramters ( both for param1 and param2 ),
this new added columns in the 2 parametrs, will be used to link the 2 field paramters together.
final step :
now you just need to add a slicer on the page. if you change to country, the filter from param_1 will propagate to param_2 and filters the row related . ( which in my example is country has id = 1 link to param_2 [id = 1] which is coloring . thus the legend will change to color .
let me know if this works for you.
If my answer helped sort things out for you, i would appreciate a thumbs up 👍 and mark it as the solution ✅
It makes a difference and might help someone else too. Thanks for spreading the good vibes! 🤠
