Change Data Source from Excel to Push Dataset
Hello,
We are moving from Excel flat files as our source data to a PowerBI push dataset. Whereas it is quite straightforward to change a data source when moving from Excel to SQL Server Tables, SharePoint, OneDrive etc, is there a way to replace the data source from Excel to a Push data set?
I understand because we are using a live connection, a limitation is that modelling via the query editor is disabled.

Hi imranamikhan,
from my point of view no.
The data sources are too different.

Hi imranamikhan ,
you have to differentiate between push dataset, live connection and direct query.
I think you mean direct query.

push dataset: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/developer/walkthrough-push-data

Thanks mwegener. Unfortunately I do not understand your response - you have provided documentation on push data and direct query but this is not at all relevant to my question?
The question is whether there is a way to change the data source for an existing PowerBI report from an Excel file to a Push Dataset.
