Change Data Source for Power Bi Dashboard
Hi, I am experienced in Excel and Access, but I am new to Power BI. I have a dashboard with my desired metrics built out for a daily report, but I want to be able to update it daily without having to redo any of the charts and measures/calcaulations. I've been doing this report in Access, but I now want to make it into a dashboard. In Access, all I would have to do to update my data is right click on tables, and save my file from today over yesterdays file (using the same name). From there, I run all my queries as normal and everything is updated. Is there a way to do something like this in Power BI where I can save over yesterdays data, refresh the dashboard, and the todays data would be refletced?

Hi cassidycarson,
After you have built and published your report, you can go to Power BI Service and schedule a refresh. You'll have the option to choose the time of refresh and you can set up a maximum of 8 scheduled refreshes a day. This will automatically keep your report updated with the latest data.

Consider taking a look at my blog: Forecast Period - Previous Forecasts Just wanted to clarify on a few things. When I said reports, I'm not talking about the Access reports. The "reports" that I send daily is a chart in excel that gives stats for that day (example pictured below). I use Access to format the data and "spit out" the numbers and totals for the day. To get my data everyday, I go into a system where I specify what data I need and then I am able to download an Excel workbook with the "raw data". For the exmaple below, the raw data would be a list of people with their applicatin and registration status, along with the other information. From here, I save this report and manually link the file to Access and save over yesterdays raw data.
