Change Cross Filter of Area Chart

I have an area chart that is showing average price for units sold in 3 seperate categories over time. I have a related table that shows the actual units that I would like to filter by the date that is clicked in the area chart. Currently, it only filters based on which category in the area chart has been clicked. Any solutions out there to change what is filtered when an area chart is clicked?

@rcannin,

It is not possible to filter other visuals by the date that is clicked in the area chart. As other post, you can change the area chart to bar chart or column chart.

Using bar chart or column chart, you can filter other visuals by clicking date and categories. To pick all the categories for a date, you can press Ctrl on the keyboard, then click all categories in the bar/column chart.

I don't tend to use area charts for cross filtering much.

In your case if you change to a bar chart then it allows filtering by date and category. However this doesn't let you pick all the categories for a date. You might need to have another visualisation to filter by the date.

Another option is to use bookmarks and selections to allow the change the visualualtions based on a filter requirement.
